Addiction Treatment LGBTQ

We provide affirming, inclusive therapy for LGBTQ+ individuals, recognizing that identity, mental health, and life experiences are deeply interconnected. Our approach is grounded in respect, understanding, and the belief that care should be both supportive and clinically effective.

LGBTQ+ individuals often navigate unique stressors, including stigma, discrimination, identity exploration, and the impact of social and systemic barriers. These experiences can influence mental health, relationships, and coping patterns in meaningful ways. Therapy provides a space to process these experiences openly while building clarity, resilience, and direction.

We work with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, identity development, and addiction. This includes both substance use and behavioral patterns such as gambling or disordered eating. Rather than treating these issues in isolation, we focus on understanding how they connect to lived experiences, stress, and patterns of coping.

We also recognize that many individuals face additional layers of complexity. Co-occurring conditions such as bipolar disorder and ADHD can impact emotional regulation, impulsivity, and executive functioning, all of which play a role in both mental health and recovery. Treatment is adapted to account for these factors in a way that is intentional and responsive to each individual.

For some, therapy also involves navigating larger systems, including medical care, legal involvement, or family-related challenges. This may include managing expectations within healthcare systems, navigating child welfare or legal processes, or working through relationship and family dynamics that may not always be affirming or supportive.

Treatment is collaborative and tailored to each individual. We focus on increasing insight, strengthening coping strategies, and developing practical tools that support long-term stability. When appropriate, we also support couples and family work, helping to improve communication, build understanding, and foster more supportive environments.

Our goal is to provide a space where individuals feel both affirmed and challenged in a productive way supporting not just symptom relief, but meaningful growth, stability, and alignment with who they are and how they want to live.
